Shanti Ruth Taka, a pilgrim from California, the United States has travelled thousands of kilometres to take part in such a greater scale of devotion in Prayagraj Kumbh Mela. A follower of Sathya Sai Baba, she is part of a group of around 150 overseas followers of the Baba, travelling to Kumbh.

She was feeling surprised to see the power and scale of devotion and spirituality in the Mela (fair) and said, “It is really amazing to see that people of such a large scale are devoted to their Lord at one place together. This is the power of devotion Kumbh offers.”

Sharing her experience from the Mela, Shanti said, “We got an incredible experience from here. It is a great pleasure for us to be part of such a huge scale of congregation of devotion and spirituality.”

Shanti, with the group, headed by a spiritual leader, is staying in the Mela for four nights and five days. She had planned to visit the Kumbh Mela earlier too on her own, but could not do so due to safety issues. But, with a big group of followers of Sathya Sai Baba, today, she was feeling safe and said, “This time we are visiting in organised manner with a big group, so there is no fear with us.”

When asked about becoming a follower of Sathya Sai Baba, she said, “Sathya Sai Baba changed my life. He is a God for me. Baba also gave me an Indian name too. Whenever, I travel to India, I stay in an ashram of the Baba in Karnataka. This time too for visiting Kumbh, I was staying in the ashram, then, came to Kumbh with the group. ” Echoing with Shanti, another group member, Ajit Singh Kwnjeet, travelling from Mauritius said, “Yes, Sathya Sai Baba is God for us.”

Maksym from Kyev, Ukraine is in India nowadays. When he heard about Kumbh Mela, he came to the city for a day. He said. “It is a very interesting religious and devotional event which we do not have in our country. People are very spiritual here. It is big thing for us to see such zeal.
