GRF to organise global convention on gene and stem cell therapy

Gene Research Foundation, Bengaluru will be conducting the annual conference on International Society For Gene And Stem Cell Therapy (ISGCT) from November 3-5, 2017 at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in the city. While announcing about the convention, former Indian cricketer Sreesanth unveiled the White Paper on the current status of Gene and Stem Cell Therapy in India.

The primary aim of ISGCT is to collaborate scientists, physicians, patients, regulatory authorities and industry on one platform to evaluate the progress made in the field of stem cell and gene research, treatment and results.

Dr. Agarwal Hospitals and Gene Research Foundation have served medicine and research for over 100 years through four generations. With the advent of Mana autologous DNA and Stem cell therapy for the last 13 years over 18,000 patients have been successfully treated. Taking research and development to the next level through the medium of the convention the Foundation invites to partake in 3 days of didactic lectures, panel discussions, wet labs and interaction with like-minded people from the industry, the Government and autonomous bodies.

The partners for the conference include Niti Aayog, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), IISc, Amity University, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Parmarthniketan, Lifecell among various other organisations. Important expected speakers attending the conference are Dr. VK Saraswath from Niti Aayog; Swamy Chidanand Saraswati from Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh; Dr. Gerard Wagemaker from Netherlands representing the Netherlands Society for Gene and Cell Therapy; Dr. W Selvamurthy and Dr. BC Das from Amity University; Dr. Sowmya Swaminathan from ICMR, Dr. Siva Umapathy from IISc, Dr. Mir Pooya from Iran, Dr. PS Dhot from Lifecell International.

The major topics that will be covered during the convention will be Clinical Breakthroughs, Genome Editing, Autologous DNA and Stem Cell Therapy, Next Gen Sequencing, In Vitro Fertilisation and Cardiac Neuro Cancer Research Commercialisation.
