The Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY) is expected to benefit 20 lakh farmers and generate 5,30,500 employment by the year 2019-20. The Government of India is implementing the SAMPADA (Scheme for Agro-Marine Processing and Development of Agro-Processing Clusters) scheme with an allocation of Rs. 6,000 crore for the period coterminous with the 14th Finance Commission Cycle, Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Indian Parliament today.

The Minister also informed that under the scheme, the Ministry is implementing various Central sector schemes in the food processing sector. The PMKSY has the following schemes:
 

  • Mega Food Parks (in process)
  • Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure (in process)
  • Creation / Expansion of Food Processing & Preservation Capacities (new)
  • Infrastructure for Agro-processing Clusters (new)
  • Creation of Backward and Forward Linkages (new)
  • Food Safety and Quality Assurance Infrastructure (in process)
  • Human Resources and Institutions (in process)
