Seeds corporation gets Govt Rs 4.12 Crore dividend

    Earning a net profit of Rs 54.07 Crore, National Seeds Corporation (NSC) has handed over dividend cheque of Rs 4.12 Crore to Union Agriculture Minister.

    Seeds corporation gets Govt Rs 4.12 Crore dividend

    National Seeds Corporation (NSC) has handed over dividend cheque of Rs 4.12 Crore to Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh. State Farms Corporation of India Limited (SFCI), which has since been amalgamated with NSC, also handed over cheque of Rs. 2.36 Crores which is 7.5 per cent of the Paid Up Equity Share Capital to the Central Government. SFCI earned a net profit of Rs 41.84 Crore in 2013-14
     
    NSC carries out seeds production activities through 10 regional offices and 77 area offices. Besides, above 6 farms have been vested in it on amalgamation of SFCI where certain developmental activities like development of undulated land, preservation of water resources and adoption of micro irrigation system, increasing the fertility of soil and production of hybrid seeds are being taken up.
